Children and Young People Committee

Important work on the Children and Young People Education Committee, taking more evidence to contribute to our vital inquiry on whether disabled children and young people have equal access to education and childcare.

Meeting with Royal Pharmaceutical

It was good to meet with Royal Pharmaceutical this month to discuss pharmacists’ role in making our health service more sustainable.

It was also very interesting to hear about the carbon neutral alternative to the blue plastic inhalers.

Meeting with Age Cymru

It was great to meet with ‘Age Cymru’ in the Welsh Parliament this month.

It was useful to talk about the current issues facing the over 50s in Wales, and to discuss their ‘Why Are We Still Waiting?’ Report into social care waiting lists.

Remembrance Weekend

11.11.11. We will remember them. It was lovely to mark of remembrance this year at the glorious Usk Castle, with The Last Post beautifully played upon the castle wall and a WWII canon fired on the eleventh hour, and again after a two minute silence.

Newport and Caerleon Friendship Club

Lovely to meet with ‘Newport and Caerleon Friendship Club’.

They serve with an important function, offering friendship to many that would otherwise spend the week alone.

Great to speak with them and try and help them find ways to help fund their crucial work.

USW Treforest Sport Campus

Really informative visit to the impressive University of South Wales Sport Park in Treforest.

If only we could have more indoor artificial pitches like this all over Wales! A real asset to USW, local area and our sports clubs.

Dwarfism Awareness Day

Pleased to have supported Dwarfism Awareness Day in the Senedd, hosted by Little People UK

An evening bringing awareness and understanding about how Dwarfism affects people, the challenges they face daily and what we can do to help bring about much needed change.

Visiting Network Rail Sites

I had two great visits to both Llanhilleth and Newbridge Train Stations in my region.

I was updated on and shown the progress being made to some of the lines and stations across South East Wales.

Not long until completion now!

#ShowRacismtheRedCard

I wore red alongside other colleagues in the Senedd all week to stand with Show Racism the Red Card to #ShowRacismtheRedCard and mark #WRD23.

Great to see my son and schools getting involved too!

If we all stand together we can show there is no place for racism in Wales.

Supporting More 20mph Protests

Great to meet more 20mph protesters today outside the Senedd.

Labour’s barmy blanket 20mph policy is deeply unpopular.

The people of Wales have had enough.

The Welsh Labour Government need to reverse this ill thought out policy.
