Commemorating Armed Forces Week

A really lovely service this afternoon organised by Monmouth Town Council, at Monmouth Shire Hall, to commemorate Armed Forces Week.

A chance to give thanks to all those that have served, laid down their lives and to those who are still serving in our Armed Forces.

NFU Cymru Celebration of Welsh Food & Farming Event

I was delighted to attend NFU Cymru's celebration of Welsh Food and Farming Event and the launch of their 'Framing the Future for Next Generations'

We have some of the best produce in the world in Wales and we must do all we can to lay the foundations for future farming in Wales.

Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Day

I met with individuals from South Wales East that have been affected by Motor Neurone Disease themselves.

I found out how they are now actively creating awareness of this cruel disease.

I will continue to do what I can for MND suffers in the region.

Royal College of Nursing

It was great to meet Royal College of Nursing to discuss the needs of and challenges facing nurses in the Welsh NHS.

It was very interesting to be presented with their new report on 'Caring for Older People', which focuses on the need to recruit more care workers in this sector.

Visit to London

I had a great day in London.

Massive well done to the Knight Family, Raglan Festival Committee and all volunteers, musicians, local businesses and groups that made 'Raglan Music Festival' such a success!

I had a fantastic visit as Shadow Education Minister to the impressive Bryntirion Comprehensive School in Bridgend, with local MS, Dr Altaf Hussain.

HMS Cambria

It was great to visit the fantastic HMS Cambria, that played host to the Senedd Cymru Armed Forces and Cadets Cross Party Group, chaired by Darren Millar MS.

Carers' Week

It was lovely to meet three wonderful young carers and to hear their stories. It is incredible what they have achieved at such a young age.

This meeting made clear to me that we need to redouble our efforts to ensure that these unsung heroes have the support and respite they need.
