Local Senedd Member, Laura Anne Jones MS, has urged Gwent residents to take advantage of the UK Government’s scheme to help the hospitality sector recover from the impact of coronavirus in Wales.
Diners across Wales will see their restaurant bills cut by up to 50 per cent from this week as the Conservative Government launches its landmark Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
Customers can get up to 50 per cent off their bills when visiting participating restaurants, pubs and cafes.
The scheme will run through August and applies to all food and non alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Laura Anne Jones said, “I greatly welcome the UK Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme as it delivers practical help to the hospitality sector.
“The scheme, which is part of the Chancellor’s plan for jobs, aims to safeguard employment in the this sector of the Welsh economy which has been hard hit by coronavirus.
“With pubs, restaurants and cafes in Wales able to allow customers inside their premises from today, I would urge people in South East Wales to take advantage of this offer and Eat Out to Help Out."
