It was fantastic visit to the lovely New Inn Primary School within my region and within my role as Shadow Education Minister.
It was a real pleasure to talk with Head Teacher Mrs Prendergast, teachers, pupils and their impressive School Council, about the exemplary work the school are doing, especially with Additional Learning Needs children, Armed Forces children ‘Little Troopers’, Young Carers, wellbeing and school improvement projects. Also, discussing the new Curriculum for Wales, School budgets and improvements needed in ALN.
It was also wonderful to have the opportunity to meet Caring Canines Cymru who were in school today too, who promote wellbeing in schools across South Wales. It was a special treat to meet Kato, one of two gorgeous dogs that come in to help the pupils, with very positive results.as
