Local Member of the Welsh Parliament, Laura Anne Jones, joined Paul Murphy of “Pride in Pill” last night (7 January) to distribute clothes, bedding and food to help the homeless and those in need in Newport.
Laura Anne Jones said:
“It was a pleasure to join Paul Murphy who runs “Pride in Pill” who does fantastic work in helping needy and disadvantaged people in the community to help distribute clothes, bedding and food on a particularly cold night.”
“Sadly, I saw far too many on our streets, homeless and in need. I spoke to many of them and discovered there was a variety of reasons how and why they ended up in their position.”
“I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated the clothes, bedding and food for us to distribute. It was really heart-warming to see such kindness and generosity not only from individuals but also from companies such as Sainsbury’s who donate food on a regular basis.”
“We have to do more to help homeless people get back on their feet and provide them with the support they desperately need to rebuild their lives.”
“We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to people like Paul Murphy who generously give their time to work for the benefit of others in their communities.”
