Visit to Newport Baby Bank

Great to visit Gemma & Teresa at #feednewport @BankNewport again today, and give a donation towards the incredible work they are doing in #Newport helping rough sleepers, refugees, mothers and those with v little.

I met Tariq, the Director of Feed Newport, and Gemma last July, as they were working hard to help those self-isolating and in need, at the start of this pandemic. It was impressive to see how far they had come and hear just how much they have done since then.

Could you volunteer? Or do you know someone that could help out? Based in Pill #Pillgwenlly they have food that caters for all of the communities of our City - Halal, gluten free, vegetarian.. they really have thought of everything.

It is so much more than a Food bank, offering warm meals to those that need it, providing a shop and food at massively discounted prices and they have stuff for mother’s who have just had babies, food, blankets, bottles - all you could need. Some mothers have nothing when they have their child, and it was heartwarming to hear the efforts they make to provide for those families in need. They also have toothbrushes, loo rolls, essential items and can signpost you to get the help that you need.

Please see the posters below, as these are some of the many good things that they are doing at the moment #ChristmasToyAppeal and #helpforrefugees

If you can donate or help out in any way, please contact them directly, or me. Thank you

Gemma’s 14 year old son even helps out at their base in Pill, with their fantastic volunteers ranging from 14-78,working hard all year around for #Newport

Can you help/volunteer?
