Local Member of the Welsh Parliament, Laura Anne Jones MS, has welcomed the announcement that the Business Rate holiday for hospitality, retail, leisure and tourism firms has been extended by a further twelve months.
Laura Anne Jones said:
“ I am delighted that the Welsh Government has listened to the Welsh Conservatives and has agreed to extend the Business Rate Relief period for firms in the hospitality, retail, leisure and tourism sectors.”
“These businesses have all suffered severely during lockdown and Business Rates represent a significant cost which they have not had to meet whilst they have been under the strictest restrictions and unable to earn money.”
“Thanks to Rishi Sunak’s Budget and the £740 million extra in funding for Wales it provides, the Welsh Government has been able to extend the relief scheme and to ensure retail businesses continue to be supported.”
